Get ready for an epic weekend on the water brought to you by Smithers Whitewater Club

Every summer, paddlers and river lovers gather at Tatlow Falls on the Bulkley River for Tatlowfest, a lively whitewater festival hosted by the Smithers Whitewater Club. What began as a casual meet-up has grown into a weekend packed with river surfing, friendly competitions, clinics, and the crowd-favourite Rescue Olympics.

Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or simply cheering from the riverbank, the energy is contagious.

Off the water, the festival atmosphere continues with live music, food, and a beer garden where stories from the day’s waves get bigger with every telling. Equal parts competition, community gathering, and summer celebration, Tatlowfest is where the Bulkley River turns into a playground.
